CCTV lens on M4/3?

I've used many but on CCTV cameras. I take it that an adapter is supplied? Is it a manual lens?

I used to use a 25/1.4 on my GF1. Apart from pretty lightweight build quality, they can give surprisingly good results in the centre though;

It also worked quite well as a Macro with a Raynox lens;

I've used a couple on the larger APS-C Fuji sensor, m43 should have much less of an issue with the vignetting some lenses give.

Most of the adaptors include a spacer* for CS-mount as well as C-mount. If you run into problems with infinity focus, remove the extra spacer. 8/10 folk trying these lenses seem to run into this problem.

*it's not a macro extension ring as you'll often see it described, but it will work as one

I bought one but for me it was a novelty and when I got bored I gave it away. If you don't get bored they do have their charms and at least give a different look to the mainstream lenses.

I work in industrial machine vision, there is quite a lot of difference in optical quality of low cost CCTV lenses (CS and C mount) and higher quality machine vision C-mount lenses, these higher quality ones cost upwards of £150, some I bought recently were £400 but they are for a 9MP 1" sensor C-mount Industrial Camera. The standard CCTV sensor is (was) 640x480 resolution using a 1/4in, 1/3in or 1/2 in sensor, so the result image circle is quite small, outside this circle the lenses do get soft very quickly, They also tend to be quite soft wide open.

To convert a CS mount to a C mount a 5mm spacer is required but as @Alistair points out, it will work as an extension tube between a C-mount mount and C-mount lens.

I have a bucket of C-mount lenses in my office and although I have a C-mount adapter for my Fuji camera, I rarely use it, you can get some interesting effects though!!
