The reason I am asking as the more photos you have on your the slower its goping to get, not just with the lack of disk but the way that Adobe bridge would slow down.

Does anyne know of a system where you could say cataoluge images on a dvd and keep a thumbnail on the hdd, then pointing you to the disk its located on if you need to get access to the photo?

Hi Taxi

Have you tried Lightroom - it's the perfect tool for cataloging photos and images. I have mine linked up to my external drive and use that for all storage. No speed degradation either, and I have thousands of photos on that drive.

Cheers the MiusciMan, I've got light room but have not spend any time using it yet.

Can you archive off to dvd/cd and keep track using lightroom. i have limited disk space and cannot afford an upgrade at the momment and dvd my only options currently

Hey Taxi

I know you can certainly archive to DVD/CD using LR, but I don't think the images are then editable, you may have to load them from the DVD to work on them. They are still kept in the library though and can be referenced.

Didn't have a change to play last night but the export function does look promising, cheers for the theMusicMan
