cat amongst the pidgeons

As a kid, after Galaxy, this was my favourite. One of very few ways i'd ever eat dark chocolate.

Old Jamaica............but does anyone remember Aztec bars from the 70s

Chocolate and coffee, two of the most wonderful substances on the face of the planet and people want to contaminate them with fats and sugars.:shrug:

Go natural folks. :D

After living here in Germany for a while it was a shock to discover that what we know in the UK as 'chocolate' isn't chocolate at all, but sugary candle-wax...

You have to travel east of Calais to find chocolate....

I thought that confectionary was the one place where snobs had nothing to moan about but alas, 'Dairy Milk isn't real chocolate and so therefore this debate is void'.

:p

TBH I'd rather have my 'chocolate' with something.

Be it 'nougat' and 'caramel' in a Mars Bar, or with 'peanuts' in my Snickers.

I'd pick a snickers over a Dairy Milk/Galaxy any day.

Dark Chocolate is

It's Marathon - not Snickers, same as it's 'Rhodesia', not Zim-bloody-babwe...

Lindt’s 90% Cocoa Bar.

So, the choice has been widened to include white chocolate and Bounville.

Which white chocolate? The 2 main contenders (Cadbury's Dream and Nestlé's Milky bar) are both too sweet and cloying - but what do you expect from a mixture of fat and sugar? And Bournville is among the lowest of the low when you're talking about plain chocolate - even the mixed packs of assorted %age minis from Lidl beat it into a cocked hat!

For general munching, I'll still go for CDM but for a real chocolate experience, one of the 70% - 80% ones is a treat - just a small piece allowed to melt in the roof of the mouth.

Galaxy is far better but if we go down the best easter egg route it has to be buttons

There's a stall in the local cattle market that sells mainly out of date stuff, and they had boxes of bars of 80% chocolate from Woolies of all places, which aren't half bad (better than Lindt and Green&Black's).

All this talk is doing wonders for Cadbury's share price . . .
