castors for light stands

As you can probably tell i am just finishing completing my home studio and it seems never ending with things i still need.
I really want some castor wheels to put my lights on- BUT can i just get any castor wheels? Errmm ??

B&Q or screwfix is probably your best bet - but you're going to struggle to attach them to the legs of a light stand - most that I've seen either come with a peg attachment, or a flat 4 screw attachment.

The peg might be an option, if you could wedge it/glue it/weld it into the leg of the stand - but I would think that most stands are aluminum, and the caster attachments will be steel.

They'll also be at a funny angle, so you might get some oddities when moving it around.

You could make a base plate on casters, which you then put your stand on top of - perhaps with some webbing to keep it attached?

All a bit heath robinson really, so if you want it to look the part - buy stands with casters? lol

Wow, took me ages to type all that, and you two blow me outta the water with a ready made product! :razz:

I didn't even think to look for something specifically made for that purpose. :lol:
