Some weeks (maybe months) ago I bought a 580 EX from Kerso. I was unaware of any cashback deals, but read on this forum of cashback being available on these flashguns so I sent off the relevant details

After a couple of weeks I got a letter stating that my receipt was outside the date of the scheme and I was not entitled to cashback :shake: no worries really as I was unaware of the deal when I bought the flashgun.

I'm sure you can guess what comes next - today I got a cheque from Canon for £40  - RESULT !!

well done, nice bonus. still waiting for my cheque. said it was sent start of the week, so hopefully arrive soon

I just got my cashback for 100 macro! It took about a month which is not bad!!!

It's good to see Canon know their a*se from their elbow :)

You can put that £40 towards a new lens now...

I'm none too chuffed, been waiting for my cheque since mid March for my EOS 40D. Will have to chase Canon up on this.

just out of interest, what is the time limit to get the cashback form in?

I emailed Canon yesterday saying I had not heard about my claim.
Today my letter and forum was returned from the post office " Not Enough Postage for Airmail " :bang::bonk::bang::bonk::bang::bonk:

When Ireland became airmail I don't know.

Got an e.mail from Canon about 6 days after sending in forms (12 May) and it says expect payment within 20 days of e.mail,. fingers crossed.

Sent mine Friday - cost £7.12 recorded delivery and insured for the cashback amount - hopefully the £195 will come though quickly :)

All these cashback offers are proving to be very tempting - so far I notice that Canon, Nikon and Loewe are doing them. Can anyone advise if these are likely to continue after the closing date ie with new offers or are these typically something that happens just at this time of year, or is it simply time for a bit of a shake-up in photography pricing and this simply a pre-cursor to this. I have already made use of the Canon offer for more than I probably should!

I bought my previous 30d body in late 2006 - this just crept into the cashback promotion then. Nikon followed suit shortly afterwards.

I think you'll find they are a 9-12 monthly event, based on sales - i'd love to see how the sales of some of the £600 and above lenses are influenced by the cashbacks.

When i bought the 30d the 5d body was £1750 with £150 cashback - i eventually bought the 5d this month. the same money bought me the 5d and the 24-105isL lens, so waiting 18 months resulted in a free lens as a result of falling prices :D

Hi,

not in the UK so it's more expensive to post over there, I nearly made same mistake as I put a 1st class stamp on it and then thought I'd better ask at PO and it cost me some extra :( but at least it got there.

I think the easy way to know is that if it doesn't have a postcode then it's not UK and it becomes airmail.

Mike.

If anybody is still waiting check the link to the submission status website that is included in the email from Canon. My cheque was posted about ten days ago apparently (still hasn't arrived though).
