This may be a daft question - but I bought my Nikon SB-400 on ebay a while back which came boxed and in good nick, but it didn't come with a bag/cover/sleeve for it. Should it have? I ask because given that it doesn't have a cover, do I do damage to the exposed contact pins when I just bung it into my bag?

Finally, assuming that I should really have a cover, does anyone have a spare Nikon SB-400 one lying around they'd be happy to part with? I know that's a long shot...:)

The SB400 does indeed come with a soft pouch/case but I can say that I havent used the case on my SB600 since i bought it as it usually gets stored in the angled position so as to save space and it is still working perfectly.

I would think that an SB400 would fit in a case designed for a compact camera, or failing that, one of those lowepro lens cases? (with space inside it for spare batteries etc)

Use an old sock.

Instead of the Sb-400? :thinking::shrug:

The item you need is the SS-400

I'd actually forgotten my SB600 had come with a bag until I saw this thread - shows just how often I use it.

A spare lens pouch works well, my SB-600 lives in one :thumbs:

I just chuck mine in my camera bag - I take it that is a bad thing?

ive always put mine in my bag, to be honest whats the difference with putting it into a bag or a pouch, if you have a bag with separators the flash wont roll around anyway.
