Daily Carol's 365 from 12th December 2012 - A Year of Happiness

We had loads of fresh air today too - got some nice family shots outside - woohoo! Well done for keeping at it - we dont get any birds at all round our way, quite disappointing!

Thanks everyone - think he was stretching himself a bit but his neck feathers do look a big scraggy
But the difference made by sunshine and NO glass is wonderful ...... the Robin and Blackbird family came back later and Robin actually walked up to the open door

This beautiful rose is on its last days - the petals are starting to curl and dry out, the colour is fading but still................ the beauty is there ... until the last moment

Our Housing Estate is quite small but we dont have any cats except this one .... every day he sits here in his 'Guard Hole' ... The children dug the hole out in the grass to play marbles last year and now he sits there keeping guard on the estate for any 'unwanted' visitors (not that he could do much except purr and lick them to death  )

Agree with Sarah about the rose background, but to me it's top right - one of us must be having a blonge moment ;)

Cat contrasts lovely against the green

Hi Carol, nice shot on the cat, but the eyes look ever so slightly soft, and nice idea with the rose, but as others have mentioned, top right on the background needs tidying up.

I do like the rose but would have liked to have seen a little of the centre of the rose as to the cat, love it, reminds me of our old college cat, a car that used to be treated like royalty by the about 12,000th students on the campus where he lived, because I used to drive an old landie to college he used to come and sit on my bonnet almost as soon as I was out of the car, my bonnet was always covered in little paw prints

Thanks everyone and can now see what you all mean about the top right hand corner :( The background was terrible on the original so tried to clone it out and must have missed a bit (well a fair amount ) as I was trying to get it on here :( Learning - more patience , less rushing when doing the processing.

My 'Oomph' seemed to have disappeared the last few days and trying to concentrate on getting a shot of anything wasn't so much a chore as I just couldnt think straight :(
But today I start a run of four days off and the sun was shining this morning so I decided to go for one of my walks to see what I could find. Got everything ready, got outside and OMG how cold was it????? That sun was deceiving to say the least but I was out and was NOT going to turn back .... got to the end of the street and thought 'Left for Cemetery or Right for Lake?' Turned left thinking not many people would be at the cemetery at that time of day or in this cold but how wrong I was .... 3 Cremations in the hour I took to walk around there  Walked around and tried to keep away from people so they didnt see the camera .... and eventually got to the little lake they have there and there were a pair of Canadian Geese just walking around. I took a seat and put on the longest lens I had with me and shot away - got some wonderful shots and they even walked along with me - at one point being no more than 3 feet away from me :) This shot is definitely one of my favourites :) The rest are going on my FB as I cant have them all on here

I was so happy when I got home and looked through them all - even got a little duckling who was paddling about on his own :) Then a few birds came into the garden and I managed to get the Robin IN the little dish that I had put outside for the mealworm for him ...... so one happy bunny here with over 200 shots for the day ..... Think my 'oomph' may just be returning :D

Thanks Toni - he just kept following me wherever I walked ..... was absolutely unbelievable - not seen them get that close before :)

Awwww wow lovely.... it's such a nice feeling being pleased with what we get isn't it........

can you send some ... oomph to us lot now please lol :D

'oomph' on its way - though may take a while as it is walking :( ..... I am quite pleased with most of the shots I took today - even the flowers for back up  Tomorrow could be a different story - depending on the weather and what spare time I have :(

Hi, Carol - I trust you are feeling better now! :)

I like your fungi shot and when it's growing on a tree like that there are so many possibilities and angles! Good job with that one! ; you did a good job with what you had at hand with the tablets and it worked well; coins is a great shot with or without the reasoning behind it...just works even better with it :) ; that pigeon is a mess, what the heck happened to him? Good shot of him, though, well composed against the other and good focus; the rose is lovely and vibrant even as it gasps it's last breath and others have mentioned the part about the BG so won't bother!; love the cat, looking straight at you and his colours work so well against the grass..nice shot and a cute story about him!; you are right about today being bloomin' freezing! You did really well with the goose!:)

Thanks Sam and good to see you back and had a good holiday I hope :)

Oh, he is very handsome and doesn't he just know it. You've caught hm just right

Thanks Sarah, Simon, Tim and Lynn :) Theres a load of them on my page on FB Tim :)

Today the weather changed again and it is grey, flat and bitter cold (hope there is no snow just yet - after the weekend is fine as I dont fancy a drive down to Worcester in snow :( )
I was still determined to go for a walk though and decided on the Lake but I was going to concentrate on trees and flowers (if there were any about) but I got waylaid by the Ducks, Moorhens and pair of Swans who have now got used to me and all run at me in case I have some bread for them - nice to be wanted if only as a food source

So today saw me trying to decide which photo to make my POTD and I'm stuck ..... I like the Swan snacking on the catkins but I also like the Catkins shot so I am cheating (again) and putting them both up for you to decide ...... this fence is getting quite comfy

So No. 1 is this one .....

I like the 2nd one best - I'd call that Pussy Willow - catkins were longer and yellowy green in colour ;)

I like the second one too (I also call it pussy willow) - lovely shape its making in the frame.

We had another busy weekend getting down to Worcester for a venue and I did a few shots of the dancers .... this time with my flash working properly :) Figured it out at last

So here are a couple of shots of my OH doing what he does best :D I know it is dark but that is how he wanted it so mainly his face was standing out - great promo shot so he says :D
