Daily Carol's 365 from 12th December 2012 - A Year of Happiness

solitude is great carol... i would love to have seen better definition in that sky , but i know the days are so changeable...

as for love... nothing says it like plastic flowers ... believe me... :D

A wonderful pair of photos Carol, tough on solitude I think I'd have cropped a little from the bottom to remove the farm from frame  as it sort of goes against the idea of the solitude of the folly

Lovely colours and shapes in the syrup shot!

Solitude - definitely solitude but also a sense of 'bleak' - it looks cold and unwelcoming!!

Thanks everyone for the great comments and sorry I havent been on here for a few days - Day 68 will give the reason why :(

Day 67 is a bit of tree fungi that I found - love this stuff (Don't know why to be honest but I find it fascinating)

And the answer to my disappearance for the past couple of days is ..... I have Man Flu - am saying Man Flu as it apparently does exist and is worse than Woman Flu .... so some WOMAN professor has officially stated (personally I think she needs a good bit of common sense put into her in some way - now we have to listen to how ill they are and how it is worse than we would ever know  )
Anyway this dose of flu crept up on me while I was at work on Thursday - was fine in the morning then a small cough in the afternoon, yesterday morning woke up to a throat full of barbed wire and by afternoon was a full blown head cold :( Have just dosed myself up on these for the past 24 hours hoping it will disappear by tomorrow even though I have a venue to go to tonight where I have to have the camera and believe me I am in no mood for 'take my photo please' at all :(
(I hate being ill and am one grumpy horrible impatient person when I am  )

So here is todays - not the best photo but all I could think of - cant even be bothered sitting in front of the window for bird visitors :(

Ach, I hate being ill... luckily it's very very rare for me. But when I do get ill, I get really ill. The latest time was recentish.. my husband got a simple cold and passed it to me. I ended up with a chest infection, lung infection and the flu. On my wedding day

I hope you feel better soon and great photos for both days! I love tree fungi too

Thanks Toni :) We are back from the venue already - way too packed and too hot and even though it reminded us all of the 'old days' it was still uncomfortable :( Didnt even get my camera out of the bag - too many bodies to make it a safe thing to do. Didnt help that we didnt get a table to sit at (even though we got there 10 minutes before it opened) o had to stand by one of the doors so my camera and me would have been knocked about a bit :( Maybe next time will be luckier :)

Lovely landscape Carol. Sorry you're feeling so rotten, hope you feel better soon.

A wonderful pair of photos Carol, tough on solitude I think I'd have cropped a little from the bottom to remove the farm from frame  as it sort of goes against the idea of the solitude of the folly

I think I'd have gone the opposite way and cropped some of the sky from the top (and some of the left). Very nice landscape.

I really like your fungus too (that sounds a bit weird) :gag: Brilliant find anyway :)

Hope you feel better soon!

Excellent shots Carol... i hope you feel better soon.... ace focus on the tabs!!

Thanks Lynn and Sarah :D Sniffed and sneezed all the way through my shift (managers didnt feel sorry for me and send me home though :( )
I need to get out and about again in the fresh air - was a lovely day here - sunny but a bit chilly in the shade but perfect for a walk and I was stuck at work so hopefully will be out and about on wednesday when I get a few days off :) Plus will be in Worcester this weekend so might get a tiny bit of sight seeing done before the venue at night :D

I have seen this done somewhere before - not sure where .... was it Ferj?? If so I apologize for pinching your idea :( - but thought it was quite nifty and thought I would have a go. Raided my till at work today to make sure I had the full set and somehow lost the pound coin :( Oh well you can still see what it is about :)

Anyhow, on the back of some of the Pound coins you will see a shield and if you collect the right coins you will find that when they are laid together they make up the same shield :D (I know --- its sad to get so excited over something so daft as a shield in coins but hey ho ... my life is pretty mundane at the moment with me having to work day shifts every day and not getting home till it is dark :( )

Hope you feel better soon Carol.

Good to see you still taking photos whilst ill. I would struggle in that scenario.

Thanks everyone - didnt see all the posts :( Feeling a bit better and making a point of taking a photo even though Im not in the mood or able (due to work) to get out and about - I know if I miss one or two days then that is it - I wont feel like getting back into it and I want to keep at it as it helps me get out and about (usually) and keeps me thinking of how to use things in my photos

Great couple of shots Carol, and hope you feeling better soon....but man flu is certainly worse than woman flu ;)

Well I have Man Flu  ....... and there is definitely NO arguing about it as I caught it from a Man ... therefore it is the strain now officially known as Man Flu but renamed WO-Man Flu  .... It doesnt lessen once it reaches a woman :rules:

Hope you are feeling better today.....
Super crisp focussing on the pills :)

Thanks Jeff :)

That's actually really cool. I never knew that!

:plusone: But then I've not really seen sterling for a while :D

Thanks Toni and Sarah .... I wondered what all the side bits were on the coins but never thought to put them together until I saw a post somewhere with it on and thought it would be a good idea to try :)

OMG that is amazing how did you figure this out

I saw it posted somewhere Hayley and I had to raid the till at work to get the right coins (kept spending them each time I got them  )

tree hugging fun guys ... good shot carol..

not so sure about the tabs..but i can sympathise with the feeling of utter cr@p feeling...

as for the shield..how about forming the coins into a tighter shield.. ??

Thanks Kev :) Thought that about the tighter shield after I posted it :( But quite happy for others to try the idea out as well :)

The coin shield is a wonderful thing I think quite a few TPer's have collected it  fungi are very good too, hope your feeling better, I've been a little rough the last few days too :( not good

Thats probably where I have seen it then Matt :D Horrible feeling like this isnt it? I hate being ill - Im not the most pleasant person to be around when it first starts so keep out of everyones way  I get nicer as I get better  Hope you feel better soon as well :D

Well I'm with them up there... I didn't know either!!... Good shot carol

Thanks T :D

Thanks Simon and Jake :)

Today has been a lovely sunny day here though a bit chilly in the shade and work called to ask if I would do the night shift rather than the day shift but we have guests coming to stay tomorrow so had to do a bit of housework as wont have time tomorrow so just kept a look out of the window and patio door (wide open for the first time in 5 months :)

Caught these little fellows having a bit of lunch

Well, what a difference not shooting through glass and a bit of sunshine makes
