Will be in Cardiff for few hours tomorrow.
Can anyone please advise on what is worth seeing in Cardiff?
Am taking my missus shopping ( I know!!! From London to Cardiff shopping!!)
So after we will have around 3-4 hours to walk around.
Or maybe anything nice outside worth going ? But not too far.
And a nice place to have dinner/lunch ?
Thanks

If you're in the City Centre, you could try the National Museum & Galleries in Cathays Park (free entry) if that's your thing.

The St. David's Shopping Centre is very highly regarded, but take a walk outside and check out the arcades - boutique-type individual shops as a change from the "High St" chains in the Centre.

Echo Nigel's comments re restaurants - Giovanni's is outstanding (sadly, looks like the weather won't be great or you could sit outside and laugh at the people across the way eating inferior and more expensive "Italian" food in Jamie's. ;))

Also, if you fancy a drink there's loads of pubs in the centre - The Old Arcade (don't be put off by the scaffolding, it's still OK inside), or the City Arms are worth a visit.

Also, if it's your thing, you could do a tour of the Millennium Stadium - if they're running it'll be interesting because they're ripping up the turf for the final time to be replaced with a semi-synthetic pitch.

Definitely agree with the castle suggestion. It's practically next to the shopping centre so no need to trek anywhere to get to it and definitely worth a visit.

I'd also echo Richard's suggestion of Cardiff Bay for lunch. Massive choice of places to eat, pleasant for a bit of a walk around and if the weather's dry enough there are water taxis and boat tours to occupy a bit of time.
You probably wouldn't want to walk it from the city centre but it's easy to get to by bus or train and only about £5 / £6 for a taxi ride from Cardiff Central Station.

On the other hand, if you want to stay within the city centre to eat I agree that Giovanni's is nice but I'd highly recommend the Madeira - one of my absolute favourite restaurants!!!

@bastic

What did you end up doing?
Ended up spending most of the time with her in the shop as my opinion was important....had a quick walk in centre, sneak peak in to castle, lunch and had to head back to London....
So I haven't seen much :)

:(

Seems like a good excuse for another trip though . . . this time to do what you want to do :D
:)
What surprised me was that you have to pay to get to Wales and it's free to leave ;)
