Car window mount?

I was driving in my car and was astounded at how close i could get to some birds. Is there a company that makes a car window/door mount for a Canon 50D strong enought to hold a 300 F2.8?
 
Kirk have one in their repertoire that'll hold it. Like all Kirk gear, it's quality at a price.

I often use a beanbag but do sometimes use a Kirk window mount - the one that Bob refers to. It happily holds my 500 f/4 and 1D so should be fine with a 300...

It's not cheap but can be more flexible than a beanbag
 
I wouldn't trust the Redsnapper with a big lens like a 300/2.8 or 500/4 as the glass takes all the weight. The Kirk passes the weight directly into the car door.

Just wind the window down so that the bottom of the mount rests on the top of the door/arm/window recess. This is a great item and works very well!

Yes, i agree, but OP's lens (the one he wants it for is about 2.5 pounds!)
 
Nope. It's 2.5kg and when I weighed mine that didn't include collar or hood. Add those and a camera body and its almost 4kg. I wouldn't want to risk my £4000 kit or my car window on the Redsnapper at that point. Not saying its a bad product, just that it is really suited to 1kg spotting scopes not 4kg camera set ups.
 
The ErgoRest multitripod could fit the bill. Needs a head for it though.
Similar to the Eckla but more versatile methinks - you can use it as a mini tripod as well.
