Sorry if you were expecting a link to some great video of a car being munched by a combine ! but this is merely my own account of an incident I witnessed yesterday.

And my how I larfed !!!!!!!!

Long straight road, about 3/4 mile visible both ways !

I'm heading one way, and comming towards me is a combine harvester, and he's indicating that he wants to turn left.

I'm a fair few yards back and have no need to slow down for him, but ease off none the less. As I do, a car appears from behind the combine. He's decided that he can't wait for the combine to actually turn off, and wants to overtake it.

What he didn't anticipate, was the large overhand on the rear, which swung out and took out the while side of his car.



The whole thing happened at about 15-20 mph, so no one was hurt, which is why I had to larf. The fella just couldn't wait another 5 or 6 seconds for the combine to get out of the way, and now he's paying for it !

Impatience, it gets you nowhere !

The car ? a nealy new Audi A6 !

I still giggle to myself now !

rear wheel steer as well on the combine , good combination that was bad for the car :lol:

In a similar vein-
Roadworks on dual carriageway, two lanes into one, you know - loadsa cones.
Guess what - bloke tanking down the outside lane either didn't see the cones/misjudged the distance/couldn't find a space/was a total prat and ploughed straight into said cones.

Not all BMW drivers are idiots y'know! Or is it just jealousy?

TBH, I have more problems with inconsiderate ***** in Volvos, Saabs who think the national speed limit is 110mph and Chavs in Fords who blatantly cant read signs OR the highway code!

I drive a Ford and I'm not a chav, nor am I illiterate!

I think you mean Citroen Saxo's, Ford Fiestas, Peugeot 106's, and Vauxhall Corsas.

And your occassionally rich chav in a Vauxhall Astra.

Your not doing the BMW community any good there y'know !

Assuming that folk are jealous ? Does that mean you feel you are high and mighty, or above everybody else, or just loaded ?

I'm not a chav, I'm not illiterate and I used to drive a Saxo before I came to University. I also found most prats seem to be in Fords as well.

this one was in an AUDI
audi's are the new BMW apparently...however, I only don't have either because I can't justify the cost to myself. I have SEAT. I can still be a prat though, although more competent I like to think than most prats....

quite funny with the impatient bloke though
isn't there a warning on the back of the combine about rear wheel steering???

Or maybe a more appropriate warning such as '5 more seconds could save you 20 Grand' ;)
