Car prices looking interesting

i got an e-mail from a leasing company today.. they have dropped their prices quite a bit too. brand new merc c class diesel for under £300 a month inc VAT (bearing in mind it costs about £170 to rent one for the weekend)

I dont know how many people here are on pistonheads, but there is a guy doing a sequence of auction results. Interesting reading for petrolheads.

Interesting .. auctions might be the way to go for the next motor

Wouldn't mind details of that.

My current Merc is due for a change in March and I've contemplated the C class. Had one as a courtesy car a few months back and they're much better than the previous model.

There are a lot of seriously cheap cars at auction just now, as that post demonstrates, especially if you'll take something a little bit high in the miles...

Mmmm any one of those estate cars would do me for the price:)

The price sounds great, but have a good read of the return conditions. These companies have to make money somewhere, and if it is from excess mileage at 30p per mile, tiny dents and dings for £1000, a full valet for £250 and then an interior repair at £200, all of a sudden your writing a cheque for £3k. WOrking for a bank (no jokes) I have come across this.

Bear in mind we had 1.9 diesel Seat Leons for £200 +vat per month on a special offer, 10k miles per year over 2 years, so a C Class (another 10grand + of car) at £255 + vat per month is too good a price, in my opinion.

Looks OK, don't know them so can't criticise.

Googled them and the only comments included one posted in October commenting on the way they delivered a car whils they were shut over christmas. I guess that was last year and it took him 10 months to post.

I'm not going to say one thing either way, but they don't include anything about the return condition of the vehicle, only the annual mileage on the website.

Just make sure you read everything carefully and you are happy 100% with it and have read and understand the return condition of the vehicle. I also note that the website says that there may be an upfront fee from the finance provider, which they will tell you about. My thought (and I don't know this 100%) is that the final price will be dependant on who the finance for the vehicle is done through.

Good luck.

Still think that x type estate at 4,500 or the c180 at 8100 are good buys, so do that rather than leasing, and actually own something at the end.

no leasing for me anyway.. i wanted to get the lexus is220d but i got turned down :)
so i bought an old vauxhall vectra diesel instead.. i miss my old car, but i'm quite happy getting 550 miles on a tank instead of 280 now
