Yes
I have been in the habit of always renewing my insurance with the same company, but have decided to shop around this year.
I am thinking of trying Confused.com and Moneysuperket for quotes.
Just a little wary that giving these outfits my phone number/email address results in getting bombarded by calls etc.

Can anyone say if they have experience of using these companies and can you recommend them.

I suppose Go Compare does a similar job, but I am thoroughly cheesed off with hearing that stupid singing [PLEASE DON'T TRY TO BYPASS THE SWEAR FILTER] in their advert that I am inclined to write them off without trying.

Help appreciated.

I tried on once, think it was confused, yep got bombarded with emails and do every year when renewal is due since,
if they insist on a phone number they get my home number that doesn't have a phone connected to it

Never been bombarded by phone nor email from any of them.

I always compare the meekat I find it easiest to use and rarely get any spam back, just watch for the little tick boxes (uncheck) that give permission for them to contact you.
If you set up an account, it saves your details, so you can just continue to use it each year, for Home insurance Car insurance .. or what ever.

Ooo I say!

Can you actually use them without setting up an account, I had to to get the quote

I use comparison sites all the time. If you do get spam emails, just mark it as such and the next lot will just go into your junk folder. A small inconvenience for saving a fair bit of money. I’ve never had any spam sent to my phone.

I was planning using my home phone since I can block unwanted calls on that.

Thanks (y)

Do you mean Compare the Market ?

Presumably it is best to only use one comparison website otherwise I could end up with duplicate quotes (and confusion !).

Thanks to everyone for their input .......... all useful.

And try Aviva plus direct line

Yes I know, but my point was, if you want a quote in the future you don't have to bother putting in your details all over again.
I had to to get the quote
Well there you go then (y)

Have you not seen the advert? :D
Even if you put in compare the Meerkat to a search engine you end up at the same site (y)

This has proved to be a very worthwhile exercise.
I used Moneysupermarket.
My current insurer is LV.
In little over one minute Moneysupermarket provided two pages of quotes that were lower than LV's renewal cost. The lowest was AA which turned out to provide a very substantial 55% reduction.
