Seems like it would do the job should anyone pull out on you. Is it battery or fag lighter to work it?

fag lighter it was up side down i had to flip the video lol ran on a 4 gig sd card

Have a look at the Techmoan website the mobius looks a good option and one I will be using when my current one goes.

hahahaha.. I would rather something that took batteries or had rechargeable batteries in it.

it had one built in or you could run it from a usb lead with a fag lighter on the end think it lasted over 2 hours or so before you needed to recharge it

The Mobius ActionCam seems great. Only downside if on a longer journey is the guy testing it got 80 mins out of it.

How much pressure can the bank take before it breaks?

It's easy to wire them into a car and hide the cables, plus when the car starts the cam instantly powers up and starts recording. Lots of people wire them to the interior light circuit, my car has a spare power socket which comes in handy.

I have two of these ( not in the same vehicle ) Bought when they were £20 each about 2 years ago. I've wired then to the ignition, instead of fag lighter, so they are always working when the vehicle is running

Cheap, been very reliable and do the job, just glad to say I haven't had to use anything they've recorded yet :)

Thanks for the help. I've put the ebay ones into my watch list. Just going to call my mate and see if he can wire them. I haven't a Scooby Doo how to do that.

This is a fraction over http://www.amazon.co.uk/KingMansion...d=1389126763&sr=1-3&keywords=ambarella+camera
This is a little under your budget. http://www.amazon.co.uk/E-PRANCE-Or...=1389126785&sr=1-13&keywords=ambarella+camera

I have one like the first model and the image quality is excellent see vid below which has been compressed to get it onto youtube, a 10 minute video out of the camera is about the 800mb mark. The cameras need to be cigarette lighter powered, they have a lithium battery but it's usually only good for 5-10 mins or so. :)

If you've got an android phone Daily Roads Voyager is pretty decent..... got this footage the first day I used it

I stopped and spoke to the guy in the Focus and ended up sending the footage to his insurance company (the blue van that he hit was performing an illegal u-turn)

Just a couple of points...... The footage is a little "trippy" as I had hadn't fixed the focus and it looks like I'm travelling a lot faster than I actually was. You can also get it to imprint the speed and location coordinates and the app itself overlays a map on the phone to accompany the footage

I can't find it for the iphone.

I review dash cameras as part of my youtube and website, currently have 6 sat on my desk undergoing testing and reviews.
Prices range from £300 to £30. The best one currently that I've done is the Vicovation WF-1. Its about £179 but the video is one of the best and especially the nighttime footage. Crystal clear. It also has wifi, lane departure, email alerts and more.

£30 ones are all well and good in theory, but most really aren't very good. I also have a £100 Iroad, and a £50 ish Cowon currently being reviewed. The Iroad is truly terrible, the footage is like VGA even though its a 720p camera and constantly over exposed.
Haven't used to Cowon yet, but hopefully it'll be better than the Iroad.

Cowon do an excellent MP3 player so fingers crossed for the dash cam.

if you have an iphone there's loads of different in car apps available for free, you just need a holder and a charger

Are there any that do gps and log the car's movements incl in case of collision.

Yes omens, lots do. Search Amazon or eBay for dashcam and GPS. GPS models cost more of course, mine was a little over £90.

A lot do gps.. Blackvue, the Iroad, the Cowon.

Sadly the Vicovation doesn't, which is a shame as the rest of it is brilliant.
