capturing bats ..

Have these bats flying close to my back bedroom window on a regular basis now .. usually come out around dusk so can be seen clearly with eye until it gets too dark .. just love to watch them ..

Used my Nikon D700 on vsrious ISO settings up to 6400 and SB900 flash to try capture them as they came close (around 6ft away at times) but not much luck sadly . they appear quite small and blurred still ... they're fast little critters ...

Any ideas on settings etc - anyone succeeded ?

Blimey No wonder I have never succeeded in our local church I only have 3 studio lamps & one off camera flash

And people think high speed flash is impressive with something predictable like balloons or lightbulbs
