Canvas to print at home set?

£9.99 is a very decent price for an innovative and suprisingly easy to do product. I really like the way the frame assembles.

But from a Tog point of view - the canvas will only be as good as the printer you are using. That is why this will only be a 'quick and cheap' home alternative.

Check out The Oxford Image Company for canvas prints - simply awesome quality and excellent service. For the 240mm by 180mm size that the home assembly frames are, Oxford do for £20 - professionally printed and only takes a few days.

Seems a good idea for home, but not up to scratch for images for clients. Might try a pack though.

Nice idea, but the material used for the frame surely means that this thing will be light as a feather. Well, not quite feather-lite, but it will surely feel and look cheap when handled by a customer... Maybe good for personal, but probably not something you want to sell on. (Watch the video on the link, and you get a better idea of quality)

a very clever and simple idea - am sure will be popular with non-photographers......... as in holiday snaps etc......... am guessing the canvas ends up about a 9x6????? Seems a tad small to me (and yes obviously limited to A4 printer!)

Do they have custom profiles? I might give it a try.

looks pretty good, although they do not have a secure payment page so the information is unencrypted which is pretty lame in this day and age!

They do stock at quite a few retailers so I would avoid buying direct from them and use someone who does give a dam about security
and the gadget shop are a fiver cheaper for the triple pack (plus 7% quidco if you use it):

great price!it must weigh about 25kg or so as its 24.99 postage to n.ireland!!!!!!

Yes would like to see the results.

OK, there is my feedback:
I bought 3 frame kit for 19.99.
I like the canvas material - is thick and easy to print on.
The plastic frame - need to position it onto canvas then fold it.
After all canvas is nicely streched and ready to hang onto a wall. Took me about 5 mintes to assembly.
Quality is good for me and I will recomend that for domestic use, but maybe not for customers(is too small).

thats my opinion... :)

Can you show us pictures of it please. I ordered one from gadgetshop and still waiting for delivery.

+1 regarding the pictures please?
Am thinking of getting them for hanging onto my new flat!

:agree:

How does the resolution on the canvas look? Also, any indications on longevity of colour yet?

Cheers :)

Hi
Here are the pictures.
strobemonkey: I think you ordered different kit. I looked at gadgetshop and yours looks different.

Hi all,
I got an email from You-frame yesterday with a discount code on it that you may want to use in future YFBETATEST50 gives you 50% off, not sure how long it is valid until but I will buy few for myself. I really like it.

pav

Hi All.

Thanks Pav for the discount code - works a treat.. HOWEVER, I just went to order a pack and their web site is not secure i.e. no https when entering credit card details. :nono:

I called them and spoke to a very helpful lady and she will point this out to their IT chaps, but in the mean time she is sending a PayPal payment request.

So anyone thinking of purchasing these, I suggest that you call them first and request a PayPal payment method.

I'm not being soft - my job is as a web developer and it just too easy to let credit card details out across the net un-encrypted.

£7.50 shipping is a bit steep :(
