Thanks everyone for your input so far, it's a pleasure to come home too browse through them.

Thanks folks, lots of choice now. Its going to be hard to find just one.

:)

I had this one of mine done on a canvas. Looked really rather nice, and gave it away as a present.

byker28i really like the first one in your flower post....would love to see it in b + w xx

Hi everyone, I am a student and I am an oil painter. I am trying to get purple mixing red and blue but won't work. I can only get different shades of brown when I mix blue and red no matter how I vary the ratio. This is for an art project using oil paints from the tubes. I'm using cadmium red and French ultramarine blue. Thanks all for your help!

Do you know - the second one is my first ever shot with a digital camera, taken with my 300D and kit lens when I first bought it 4 years ago. It's nearly all been downhill since ;)

Wrong kind of canvas?? ;) However from my brief art days, you need a blue that leans to the red side of spectrum, and a red that leans towards the blue, reds or blues that lean towards yellow will produce shades of brown IIRC!

Excellent photos here.
I'd find it hard to pick a winner

Very true, there is some amazing photo's and I will have to think long and hard to choose one, I won't call it a winner because all the images are winners in there own right.

You have a very hard choice as said before Haggisuk Good luck

hi there, i'm new to the site and desperately trying to get back in to photography since my wife had our little baby! here is a shot I have blown up to an incredible 90x120cm on to canvas, via prints2canvas.com

i was concerned with it only being a 4meg jpeg as to how it would look, but it has come out really sharply.

Well after much thought and arguing, we have came to the image above as the final choice.

I would like to thank everyone who submitted pics to this thread and I may contact some of you in the future to get some of the other images printed which I like.

Well chosen, lots of good pictures here and well done to the 'chosen one'.

Shame I missed this thread, I bought an orchid last weekend with the specific task of practicing taking flower pics. This thread has really showed the high standards we have on the forum.

:help: AARRGGGHHHHHH.....Feeling chuffed and miffed all at the same time. On hunting through files, I realise that the pic is a crop and may not print as big as Haggis would like. :( However, I have the cropped and original for him, so he can have a word with his canvas printers and see what they say.
