Hello. This morning I got up as usual and tried to put on my Windows10 desktop computer, and it said the password was wrong. I tried a couple of things I found online which didn't work.

So I got my Window11 laptop out to try and reset the password via Microsoft, and on this computer it also said the password was wrong!

Two separate computers, on two different operating systems are saying that their passwords are wrong. Does anyone know what is going on, and hopefully how to resolve this?

Can ask these clarification questions:-

  1. Are you saying that on both devices you use the MS account login and not the 'Local Device ' login?
  2. IIRC MS refer to account login as a PIN, unsure if they allow an alpha numeric login. But if they do and you use such a password, have you inadvertently got the "caps lock" on both computers?
For an issue to be the same, OS differences or not. The common factor seems to be either an issue with your MS Account and/or a common setting/action on your part on both computers.

Other than that I am unsure what to suggest.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. :)

I think it may have been user error. :$ I turned off the Wi-Fi on the laptop and was able to sign in, and then log in with the Wi-Fi on and off.

For the desktop PC I disconnected the network cable and tried to sign in, and that didn't work. I think I may have been putting the wrong password in, as I tried an alternative. I have a lot of stuff going on atm and am hoping this was just me not concentrating.:oops: :$

Again, thanks for replying. ;)
