Grateful for some advice on this problem.
I have a PC with two hard drives. I have just had to reinstall Windows 7 on to the C drive.
If I click on Start, select Control Panel, and then navigate to the Device Manager and click on the Disk Drives both drives are listed. If I right click on either of these drives and check Properties the popup window says 'This device is working properly'
However, if I Click on Start and select Computer I can only see one drive, ie the C drive where Win 7 has been installed, and therefore cannot access the D drive
Via the Device Manager I could uninstall the D drive, reboot the machine and hopefully the D drive would be recognised as new hardware and it would be installed.
However, the Device Manager already says it is working properly but more importantly the Device Manager does not name the drives as C and D, it shows them by code letters (ie HDT722525DLA380 ATA Device and SAMSUNG HD080HJ ATA Device) and I can't remember if the HDT one or the Samsung one is the C drive and I guess it would be a disaster to uninstall the drive that contains the OS.
Any suggestions how I can make the D drive visible and accessible?
Thanks
Dave
