Can't remove quick release plate from tripod head - Yikes!

My quick release plate seems to be stuck on my Manfrotto pistol grip head. I've pushed the brass pin down, but the lever won't move at all to allow me to remove the "quick release plate".

Anyone else had this problem / got any suggestions as to how to remove it?
 
On my Giotto there is a little switch on the handle you pull to release. It can get a bit stubborn and need to be forced a bit before it'll release the plate. Not sure on your model though, take a pic of it maybe and post it up?
 
Here's the little beauty with the brass pin in the supposed 'release' position, but the plate is stuck as fast as ever.

Attach your camera to it to add weight then gently holding your camera tug it off in a straight line, thats what id do. Might not work but worth a try
 
I've tried it with the camera on but don't want to force it in case it damages the thread on the bottom of the camera. Still stuck!
 
You could try (AT YOUR OWN RISK!) gently putting a screwdriver close to where the cam grabs the QR plate and tweaking gently against the end of the lever. Be gentle though - you don't want to break anything untilthat's the only option!
It almost looks like you've pushed the lever too hard and put it overcentre.
 
Can you see the brass pin at the other side between the plate and the main release handle try pressing it down with the screw driver

There's something brass there, but I can't get anything like a screwdriver anywhere near it, unfortunately.

You should have just posted that "you" had done it, you do realize getting wife to do anything and then telling the lads that she beat you is not a good thing :lol::lol::lol::lol:
 
How did she manage it? Or is she just good at getting small things out of tight situations?! :lol:
