I've used Outlook as my email (ie myname@outlook.com) for years and Hotmail before that and never had a problem. Since yesterday I can't open links in emails.

When I move the mouse over the link it doesn't change from the arrow symbol to the hand symbol and if I try click on a link I end up back in my Inbox.

Has anyone who uses Outlook had the same problem and can anyone suggest a solution?

If I forward an email with links to my Gmail email account I can then open the link.

I've looked online but all the 'solutions' refer to much earlier versions of Outlook that don't seem relevant to this problem.

Don't know if it is important but I use Firefox as my browser and get to the login for my Outlook email via a bookmark in Firefox.

Thanks

Dave

it is one of the security settings, hyperlinks are disabled.

Thanks for the reply, Paul. Having done a bit more ferreting around it does appear to be caused by, or at least linked to, Firefox. If I go to my Outlook login using Microsoft Edge as the browser instead of Firefox, I can open the links in emails.

I haven't, as far as I am aware, changed any setting in Firefox and I can't find one which disables hyperlinks. It worked one day and didn't the next. Perhaps it will right itself soon.

That's just weird - why not just open the outlook client? Or do you use a browser for emails?

Thanks for the link. I saw that one but it assumes you are using Win 7 or earlier and/or using the Internet Explorer.

I tend to open the browser first after I switch on for checking news, forums, etc and it easier then to have a bookmarked link to Outlook.

Thanks
