I have been dashing around like mad all week getting loads of lovely goodies in for Xmas. Got up this morning and I felt really ill, my head was thumping and my body is aching. When I spotted all the Xmas food this morning, I just wanted to heave.

I also have a terrible sore throat, and a blocked nose. I have not eaten anything yet, just can't face it!

What a time to be ill, just hoping I feel better tomorrow.

I Know the feeling just haven't stopped for weeks, working weekends and all hours, since I was off work in September for an op, due to closing the plant I have worked in for the past 27 years, moveing to Gateshead :(, I turned the lights out as I left on Friday and have felt totally Carp since. 2013 can only be better :)

Oh dear, sounds like Norovirus is about to come calling.

Just had a quick read up on it, and it says it can be dangerous in the very young and elderly. hmm looks like it's dangerous for me then lol, just hope I have not got it :gag:

Sore throat and blocked nose is a cold! It's not noro.

Get to bed. Stay in bed. Sweat like pig and it might just kill it off.

Join the club. My wife is flat out on the sofa with noro virus. We can't see any family or our grandchild over crimbo because of passing it on and our going to Ireland has been cancelled too. So for us it's no dinner no fun no family just misery. So I know just what your going through Jon.

My whole body is also aching, and I have thumping head ache. I just don't feel like eating, not eaten anything today. Even my jaw and teeth are aching.

It's worse when you have planned to go away or to visit people, not too bad for me because I planned on a quiet one this year.

Oh well the missus said I really do have to eat something now, going to try a little something to eat. Just don't want to, I can see it coming back up.

Not sick here. Just sick of it.

Me too - like to see Christmas, New Year and Easter all lumped together in the same weekend. Kill 3 turkeys with one stone

if it was noro you wouldnt be posting here, unless you can type and explode from both ends at the same time :D

That's only for the middle 24-36 hours, it starts like a cold, and worsens, terrible aches and pains and then the nausea starts. It's normally the second night that the dual "problems" start ;).

Once that is over it becomes a heavy cold again, be aware you are most contagious around/after the D&V period, and the virus will live up to a week outside the body, even on household surfaces, just waiting for the next person to touch and become infected for their bout of "fun" :shake:.

Didn't happen like that for my wife. She came home was fine and then boom both ends over and over non stop shaking sweating then freezing cold today is the first day she's had more than 20mins kip in one go.

She's on salts and stuff from the doc and is drinking but more comes back than goes down. In 21years I've never known her this poorly. Doc came again the other day and confirmed test results of noro virus if no improvement by Boxing Day he wants her in hospital so fingers crossed she starts to perk up.

Never seen anything like it. No wonder older folks die from it. The worst thing is so many people get similar but not always the same symptoms. Some get it the same as my wife but no vomiting some get it with flu like symptoms.

The only thing in common with all of them is explosive poop :gag:
