Can't download pictures

I'm doing a long walk tomorrow and was going to take my husband's compact camera

However, the cable for the camera was lost ages ago but the memory card used to work in my card reader. It doesn't now. What do I do?

Either go to a computer/camera shop and get another cable, go to supermarket and buy another card or alternatively find a friend with a working card reader and get them to download photographs onto a cd/DVD.

Thanks for replying but unfortunately, getting a cable is not an option, we've rung round places today and no one has that one in our area and we can only find it online.

There was just one person who had the same camera but she's not around today

No one I know has card readers either, they all download straight from the camera

If there are no important pictures on the card, you could try formatting it in the camera and then trying again in your card reader.

Go to jessops or a supermarket, put card in there automatic machine where you will get the option to copy to cd

Unfortunately, we've just found the pictures from our friend's wedding last year and I can't them downloaded anywhere so don't want to format

Looks like I'm going to have to use the Blackberry for photos

The light on the card reader is on but I can't select the folder with the pictures, it says there's no disk in the drive. The card reader works as I've just downloaded my normal camera's cards

We found the lead!

The funny thing is, it was with my small photo printer so now we're looking for the cable that goes with that!

Might have to start labelling cables....

Now the battery pack is playing up and not charging the battery. Anyone think that fate is intervening here and saying I shouldn't do this mad walk!
