Can't download files from new Nikon D7000

Just bought the above camera today and have been trying it out with a few shots.

All was going well until this evening when I tried to download the files onto elements 9 on my I Mac.

The files could not be downloaded by either aperture which I also have or elements, it is saying they are damaged or not supported.

I have checked with the user manual for the camera and have confirmed that I formated the SDHC memory card, I then downloaded the software that came with the camera and it appears the files which I shot in RAW format have been copied to this catalog but I cannot transfer these to elements.

I obviously need to be able to download my files onto elements and aperture so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have had no previous problems with downloading files from my previous Sony DSLR camera.

Have you downloaded it, and are you now on the installation stage??
If so try installing it again and when you open a RAW file up it should open in ACR 6.3

Are you using the auto update or the manual, I find the manual works better in some cases, with CS4 I could never get auto to work.
 
Have you tried manually importing them into Aperture? For some reason it doesn't automatically start the process. As long as the card appears in Finder you should be able to manually import a photo? Once you have imported one you may find it kickstarts the automatic process. That's what happens on my iMac with my D7000

Thankfully in no small part to Dave I have managed to sort it out in both Elements and Aperture so very relieved, thought I had wasted a small fortune on new camera.:)

View NX 2 can be handy for reading RAW files from new cameras. It's free and you can convert to Tiff and jpeg. Worth having around as a fail safe when new models of camera come out :)
