Wow what can I say. Just got back from the presentation afternoon for the photographic competition at the National Memorial Aboretum in Alrewas.

Very happy and very shocked to say I won first prize in the Flora & Fauna category with the image below. Weekend in the Isle of Wight was the prize so now looking forward to a lovely break away

Well done! It is an interesting composition - most close-up shots like this don't have much in the background of note.
 
Great shot, well done on winning. I love the colours and the blurred background image are fantastic.
 
It speaks volumes, beautiful photograph perfectly presented and a deserved winner. Enjoy you weekend in the Isle of White.

Thanks alot folks im still shocked to have won even now. There were so many entries I really didnt think I stood a chance.

In answer to the questions about the IOW, we get to choose the hotel from a selection in either Sandown or Shanklin. Always fancied Shanklin myself but open to any suggestions from peeps who know the island.
