I would be grateful of a little advice. Which would make the best Walkabout lens?

Sigma 18-200mm F3.5 OS or the newish Canon 18-135mm F3.5.

I use a 400d & shoot a variety of subjects.

Any thoughts/advice/experience would be most helpful
:)

I would simply advice the Sigma. It has better range and the Optical Stabilisor. I think that for you it would be the best choice, as the difference in quality will should not be noticable to you (I assume youre a beginner).

So yes, out of those two I would go for the Sigma.

The Canon has IS as well, and better IQ. I'd go for the Canon, have one myself and cant fault it.

If you want a Sigma (its cheaper) the 18-125 OS is better than the Sigma 18-200, though obviously has the shorter range.
