Canon v2 Firmware problem

Oh 5h1t, I have a completely useless 7D!!!

Upgraded the firmware a few days ago, all seemed fine, now I find I left it turned on, auto power off must have kicked in, I press the shutter but nothing happens, it seems to meter but doesn't take a shot........taking batteries out & praying, then resetting firmware to the last one that worked, and hoping Canon get this recent firmware fiasco sorted.

Really tempted to go over to the dark side after this

That's gonna be a bummer for some people. I ended up selling my 7D as I had some issues with it but at least it didn't freeze. I was thinking about trying another 7D (second hand this time) to see how it handled after the new update but I think I'll be holding off a bit longer yet. I really like the AF layout of the 7D and it gave me some great photos, but I had some focus and exposure problems with it. At first I thought it was user problems, but I've not had any similar problems with any other 5 bodies I've had or got, so I really think it was the camera.

Maybe when they've got all the kinks straightened out I might have a look at another, or maybe wait a few months to see what will be released in the future.

Updated mine on 2nd day it was available had no probs at all in fact camera is now working far better than its ever done and I now feel it justifies its original purchase price.

Could it be anything to do with how it was put on camera ie. I did mine through the EOS Utility.
