Does anyone else find the Canon v Nikon debate a little..................samey ?

I use a Sony a700 so I have no axe to grind either way.

So often you'll see, for example, a canon user say 'I've got such and such problem' and a nikon user will say 'I'm not surprised, you wouldn't have that problem if you used a nikon...' etc. And of course it works the other way.

These comments are usually followed by a lol smiley (do people really laugh out loud at this stuff) or the 'I'll get my coat' one.

Do the people who post this stuff really think that they are being original, and worse still, funny ?

Come on fellas, time to up your game a bit. At least take the p*** out of us Sony users !

This is meant to be a little light-hearted by the way. It's not exactly keeping me awake at night.
 
I am afraid Sony users are going to have to get in the queue - the Pentax users are already in front of you :D

I'm afraid I'm a little guilty....though its always mean't to be a laugh....and now, its very much tongue-in-cheek....check out my avatar and you'll see why...I know its often not original to do the typical arguing, sometimes I just feel like it, sometimes its ' get a flipping Nikon/Canon whatever then. :D :lol:

I get tired of it too. After all, Canon users know that they should have bought a Nikon.:lol: Ooops sorry did i just put a LOL smiley after that?:lol: b****r, did it again sorry!:exit:

Seriously, it doesn't bother me in the slightest. You'll never stop it so why try?

I think there will always be friendly banter with photographers over equipment. When I occasionally go out shooting with others, I'll be the only one using a film camera so I'll get some stick (in a joking way) about film vs. digital even from another Nikon user.

It can get tedious when it is not constructive.
 
Hear, hear, I just let it wash over me nowadays.

Nikon vs Canon, Mac vs PC, FFS they're just tools to do a job. Why people have to defend their purchase to the border of physical violence is completely beyond me. Buy what you like and use it, go on, take some pictures.
 
I think Sony users are exempt - their cameras work after all - I quite like the look of the Alpha 900 (is it?) - nice pentaprism - very Pentax 6x7-stylee...

It's all harmless fun as long as it is harmless fun... I can't get on with Canons - just can't - they just feel wrong to me...but a lot of the work I admire was taken on Canons...if I ever bother to look that far, that is...

What else is there to talk about?
Once we've ripped each others work to shreds, there's only sex, cars and cameras left to talk about.
Sex is good - OK that's sorted then.
Cars - well if it's not a Ford V8 it's not worth having and if it's a Vauxhall it's rubbish...unless it's a Holden masquerading as a Vauxhall...hmmm... VXR-8 Bathurst Edition...tricky.
Cameras...hmmm...
 
I love canon vs nikon debates when they are taken as seriously as they should be.





If you're thinking 'how seriously should they be taken' please read more of the debates before taking part :p
