Has anyone on here done one of theses seminar/practical days?
I am thinking of doing one as I have had a £100 off voucher sent through, but I wanted to know if they were any good first

Ive been to the two of them. "Understanding Digital EOS and 40D "Taking full control".... I Joined the mailing list and got them at a reduced cost. They email out a list each week of the reduced cost in courses... We had 14 in each class and everybody was well pleased with what they had learned.. They do cram a lot into the day. You come away with a soft copy of what you have learned and a CD going through the various slides which the instructor went through.
I got about £40 off each course, so it was well worth it and its only 30 min drive to Huntingdon where I live.
All the instructors I believe have worked for Canon in the past and know the ins and outs of every little bit in the camera.
You don't go hungry at Lunch time either.
I haven't been on one of their "shoots "yet..

Have you got a link to there website ?

That sounds positive, there are a couple I was interested in but they are miles away from me although for the price of them with the voucher it may be worth me going on something that closer like the wedding one (even though I have no interest in going near a real weddingas), as it would teach me a lot about exposing for blacks and whites and using flash which would cross nicely to other areas.

Thanks all, I will have to have a serious think about it :)

These Experience Seminars trainign days are excellent, well worth the money. I have been on three seminars, the most recent one at Haydock about the EOS flash system. It's a full day of serious, useful, detailed information, excellent presenters, and a detailed book of notes at the end.

Thanks for the feedback  I am going to go for one, just trying to make my mind up which one!

Haydock isnt too far away from me and I wouldnt mind doing something like this. How did you go about it and did you use the company mentioned above?

Cheers

I have been on three of these the 40D, macro, and creating images and am heading to the light one this w/e. Except for the 40D there is not much hands on in the semsinars (except the 40D) - but there is a lot of good information, which you could pick up from reading a book, but the focus of a day on one topic is very helpful IMO and questions and discussion is always interesting. The CD is very useful afterward to quickly recap stuff. Pick one you really need would be my advice and take it from there. There are good offers on especially mid week.:):)
