ive herd that kenko's are on par with the canon range, i have a canon 2x t.c but im after a 1.4 version too, would a kenko be as good as a canon??

wes:)

I think like anything the official product may be a little ahead but it will cost a lot more.

Batteries for my camera cost me just over a tenner, they fit mostly alright but not quite as snug as the Canon originals - which cost ten times as much!

I have had both canon & kenko 1.4 tc's and the kenko gave far better IQ than the canon version.

That's interesting... I was thinking of getting the 1.4 TC to go with my 400D and 70-200 f/4 but if the Kenko 1.4x Pro 300 is really better then I guess that's the one to go for.

In my experience of owning both makes of 1.4x the optical differences are not great, but I notice a slight play when using the Kenko, whereas the Canon locks on solidly with no play at all. I can't help thinking that the Kenko play must affect the light path, but as I say, not so that you can necessarily notice. One huge advantage of the Kenko over the Canon is that the Kenko will fit certain lenses eg the 70-300IS which the Canon will not. Then there's the price difference...:)
