Two suggestions.
One: Jessops have them in stock so apparewntly the "supply problem" isn't universal. Maybe Warehouse Express just didn't order enough of them and are trying to fob the blame off onto Canon.
Two: Canon don't have the production lines running continuously for some of the more specialised "L" lenses. They make them in batches, and then when the batch is sold ther won't be any more until they make another batch.

3. When Warehouse, Purdy, Fixation etc couldn't get me a 300/2.8 in the summer, Kerso got me one from the US in a week with a big saving...
