Hi guys

Just got a Canon ST-E2 to control 2 canon flashes, been having a play but don't seam to be able to get the flash ratio option to work properly

The 2 flashes I have are the 580EX and the 430EXII and the Camera is a 40D

As far as I can tell I have them set correctly

Flash 1 is set to group A
Flash 2 is set to group B
Both are set to channel 1
Both are set as slaves

When I take the picture I am not seing any difference in the flash units output.

I even tested using a flash meter and both are giving the same output no mater how I adjust the ratio control on the ST-E2

I must be missing something, anyone got any ideas.

Thanks

Paul

Although you've set the ratios, have you set the ratio switch to "ON".

Sorry if this seems basic.

Is there enough light that they're both at minimum power output ? or have you got the ISO very high with a large aperture ?

What happens in a dark room ?

Hi

Just gave it another go

Panic over

I just set up a proper 3D subject to test it on and its working fine, on the 3D subject I can clearly see the ratios changing.

Flash duration on these units must be too fast for my Minolta meter to react to properly.

Thanks for all the help

Paul
