Would I be right in thinking that the only way I could get a 600 ex to fire a 580 ex II wirelessly is to mount it on camera. Other than invest in a wireless transmitter. My camera is a 5d mark II.
From what I have read, as I sold mk 580exii to purchase the 600's, you can only trigger the 580 using the 600, optically. I'm not sure if you added a wireless receiver to the OC 580 that the 600 would trigger it or not.
There's nothing to stop you getting creative, a TTL lead on the camera to the flash and the on camera menu can be used to control your 2 lights, you can set ratios - manually or ETTL. You could actually use either gun as a master or slave (I believe the 600 is completely backward compatible).
But it's all the old Canon wreless system, unless you buy another 600 for the radio, or you get some radio triggers (3 YN 622s would enable a wireless radio setup cheaper than any other method)
