I have just installed Windows 7 64bit on a new build PC but cannot find the disk containing the software like DPP and EOS utility.

I have checked on the Canon support site but the only utilities available are updaters which require the utilities to be installed:(.

Does anyone have an up to date Solutions disk they dont need or a link to where I can download the various utilities please?

Andy

I got rid of my spare copy of the disc some time ago. However there seems to be two other solutions to the problem.

1. Apparently the Canon Japanese site has version 1.0 (?) of the programs available for download. (I've had a quick look but can't find it ! - not helpful ). If you can find it and install then you can grab the latest update version.

2. Follow the instructions here if you're happy editing the registry :-

I think this will work with Windows 7 although you may have to run regedit from a DOS box (command prompt) or search and run directly.

Thanks Gerry, I will give them both a try.

It's ridiculous that we can't get easier access to this software :(

Its easy once its installed on your PC. I suppose its canons way of making sure you've their equipment as they are providing free software for it and all the upgrades are free.

You need any version (doesn't have to be latest one) installed, then you pop along to their site and upload the latest version.

I see Craig's already offered a disc if your struggling, I'm sure I've got one if needed.

Canon 7D will give you the best technology that is available today, capture every event in a certain occasion and get a wonderful result.

What ? This has to be the most random off topic post I have read in a while :S

Thanks to all of you who offered advice or disks, I really do appreciate it :D.

I managed to sort it and all installed.

I had a reply from Canon UK!!! who basically stated that the software is licensed to the guy who runs the online EOS magazine. I checked there and you can purchase manuals and disks for around £16 :gag:
