Yes
Has any one here using one and if so what ink and paper do you use with it.
How much is the ink and paper.
Just watched a YOU TUBE video about it and was sort of impressed.

Really thinking about this for myself as most of the time I do mono photography.
Any help would be very much appreciated, thank you.

Things like this.

We had one of the older versions of it
It's a dye-sub printer and you mostly get paper and ink as a package from canon themselves. The amount of ink and paper are exactly matched
Example

You can get bigger packs too which saves a bit of money. Looks like you can 3rd party versions these days, I have only ever used canon version. I managed to source them quite cheap on ebay from people selling off left over ink and paper.

All in all not the cheapest but it's pretty nice and convenient. If you enjoy making your own prints and don't need larger than 6x4 it's very nice.
My missus mainly used it for making prints for the albums. I also have a larger inkjet printer. I also used it for things like passport photos etc

We've got one but I've only used it a few times so far. Seems like it would be great for prints to go on the fridge, to give people as little gifts or to go in an album etc

I printed a few off to go in with Christmas cards.

My only gripe is that it appears to be glossy only, and in all honesty, I do prefer lustre/matt.

I have one which I use for printing off phone pictures for a basic album. Only ever used genuine Canon packs - didn't even know there were 3rd party ones! Just used Amazon.

I have it. Best thing ever for quick prints of any good phone shots of the kids. Nice colours and the images haven't faded yet a couple of years on.

I use the original Canon paper + inks to go with it.

Good purchase. Very fast at printing too.

Just aquired one, little used (still has the plastic protection on the LCD and buttons. Came for a nearly full triple pack of paper/ink.

It's doing exactly what I wanted, wee prints to give to family & friends.

For serious or larger prints I outsource or use my ancient but venerable Canon Pixma Pro 9500 II

I am still thinking about this, and since I first thought about it still have not decided what to do..
I have been offered by a club member to print any photographs in A4.
There is a shop close to me where I can get any other prints done.

Forgot to mention one thing.

Unlike my old inkjet printers it's always ready to go.

No clogged heads, no faded colours/artefacts/stripes when left unused for too long or when the inks are running out. It just works.

Could be an economical route to home-produced photobooks - the results pasted into something like this: https://artway.co.uk/artway-studio-wirobound-sketchbooks-170gsm/

My thinking is that the spiral binding might accomodate the expansion of page thickness from pasting images on two sides of each page. I'm on the brink of going for it.

Given that spiral binding is a bit 'punk', culturally speaking, & doesn't file very well on a bookshelf where it has to nest with other spines ...
