Canon repair work in Dubai: problem with international warranty

Hi!

I purchased 3 weeks ago a Canon Speedlight 580EXII through the B&H Online Store. Now I have a technical problem with it, which needs to get fixed here in Dubai, UAE. But they say that they won't recognize international warranties...! Any suggestions on how to proceed or whom to contact at Canon? Thanks,

You will have to send it Stateside for repair.

Having bought 'grey inports ' myself I am aftaid it is the risk you take :(
