Yes
body is a 400d, remote is a genuine rc1.

I've set the shoot mode to <timer/remote>
pointing the rc1 at the body but I'll be (add your own expletive here)'d if I can get it to fire.
new batteries, everything is clean and tidy.

Stumped, any ideas please?:(

Are you aware that the receiver is on the fronnt of the 400D?.....(just besides the lens mount)

Bob

Yes Bob, camera was set up on the lounge table and I was pointing the RC1 at the front, basically at the lens as it looks at you.
but nada, and it sucks

Stupid question first have you got the remote switched on? The little switch has 3 positions off, on and 2 seconds delay, the middle is on so try that.

It's worth trying it in daylight too.....fluorescent (energy saving) lights have a fair bit of IR in them.

Bob

Thanks guys I'll have a play about with it today.
I'd like to play about with low light and long exposures and this seems as good a way as any for control

er - you have set the camera to receive the remote?:rules:

cheers Mike, see post 1 ;)

Seems to be ok in daylight in the kitchen, works well in fact so cheers for the tips/advice

Smashin'....all you have to do now is go back to using old style incandescant light bulbs. ;)
