I have a brand new Canon R5. I noticed a horrible back focusing with my 35mm 1.4 Mark I. lens.
I have tried to micro-adjust focusing but apparently there is no option for micro-adjust AF in the menu... ?????
Anybody facing the same problem????
Thanks!

Mirrorless cameras shouldn't back focus as the camera takes focus off the sensor so there shouldn't be any mismatch as per DSLR's. Other than that have you looked at other causes such as movement as you press the shutter button, shutter speed too low etc?

One of the main points of mirrorless is that it doesn't need microfocus adjusting because the image plane and the AF plane is the same i.e. the same sensor. On a DSLR the two are on different planes i.e. a separate image sensor and PDAF sensor and due to manufacturing tolerances they could be misaligned slightly. Hence the need for MFA on DSLRs

Are you focusing on static subjects? If all gl your other lenses work fine may be it's a problem with the lens?
Perhaps try contacting canon support also.

Yep ,but Olympus put it in for non Olympus lenses

Was the subject moving and you had the camera on single shot AF?

It could also be the AF mode you're using.
I thought my RF 70-200 2.8 was back focusing but it turned out to be zone af picking a high contrast part of the frame.

Can I suggest (if you're not using it) trying centre spot af?
