I've been outta touch with 35mm film cameras for a while now, what/which Canon models were pro cameras for 35mm film can someone tell me please?

If the Nikon F3/F4/F5 where Nikon's pro stuff, which Canon models would sit along side these..?

Thanks.

Canons Pro Models were the F-1 and it's derivations, later on it was the EOS 1 series - 1n HS, 1n RS, 1V

The original F-1 was aimed mostly at the Nikon F2 market, and the later iterations of the F-1 covered the dominance of the Nikon F3.

as a nice complement to your 5D, the EOS 1V or EOS3 bodies are pretty much the ones to go for.

Adding to TheBigYin's comment,

If you are on a tight bugdet then I suggest the EOS30 or 33 is dirt cheap and you can use all your EF lens. Also the older EOS 5 is very good too. I really like it as it got zooming on camera flash!

EOS 1v and EOS3 are the last pro bodies. The EOS1v roughly equivalent to the F5 and the 3 to the F100, more or less. Note that the 1v is bigger and heavier than your 5D, while the 3 would be a bit lighter.
