Yes
I've looked at getting a 1d mk11n from them. They have good feedback and I think they are the official outlet for this type of product. I;ve not used them yet though.

I bought my 30D from them, turned up looking like new. It was boxed, included all the bits. If it wasn't for the shutter count you wouldn't have been able to tell it was a "refurb". I'd have no problem using them again.

Interesting how Harbour48 ( another ebay seller of camera kit ) buy a lot of 5D's from the canon outfit...

I got my 1dmkII from them, think i paid £1300 about 2year ago (shop price was about £1800 at the time) it looked and felt as new, all paperwork perfect etc... IIRC using the little program that tells you shutter actuations it had done 300 before I got it... Id use them again, but, you dont tend to get the bargains anymore.

I also got a Canon Fax-B820 faxmachine off them, was something silly like £13, again brand new.

Harbour48 is a reseller, buys off ebay cheap & sells dearer.

Canon refurb are ok. i got 400d off them, i had problem with camera, it happens but they only guarentee for 7 days. My problem was memory card but as you dont get one included, by time i got one & checked camera 7 days had passed. Canon fixed problem, just took a little longer to enjoy. Best time to buy is look for ones finishing early in morning

Really annoying this sort of thing, last time i looked about 5 or 6 differant people were winning ever single item that Canon Outlet had up... Such a shame for the end user having these kind of folk reselling, basically, upping the price for the enduser, I suppose Canon Outlet wont care who they sell too as long as they get paid.

shop around and you will beat 90% of the prices things go for anyway.

didnt win when i got mine  come to think about it neither did i, got a second chance. Only problem that some twits just like to win, taking £50 money off from most retailers most bids were pushed right upto limit was nearly worth walking into shop & buying

refurb shop offers 7 day money back, the guarantee is 1 year from canon

i've bought probably 80-100 items from them
95% of their stuff is excellent, some of it isnt refurbished properly

what will say (and i cant stress this enough) is that canon outlet (digital river) themselves are bloody useless. if there is any problems (for instance their checkout system is awful and will reject your payment for no reason sometimes) then they have no idea how to fix anything or even help you. they have no customer service skills.
They are a joke. But if you can put up with them then you can get some good bargains (my Mk11 1D N was 1500 quid and like new.

strangely enough, most people in retail buy cheap and sell higher :)

I'll second this.

I bought a Canon ip4200 from them a while back, which was DOA. Initially, their support line was very helpful but it soon degenerated. Despite the claims on the website regarding refunds etc, it took me several weeks and numerous 'phone calls to obtain an RMA and sort out my refund, all for a palty £38. I didn't see any action until the store was reported to both Ebay and PayPal and I had contacted both Canon's head of Public Relations and Digital River HQ.

Naturally, I left negative feedback and was then summoned into dispute resolution to ask me to withdraw my feedback. I was offered two bribes to alter my feedback, in clear breach of the Ebay's trading policy. At that point mediation ceased as I stated that I was not prepared to withdraw my feedback given their concerning practices. Not long afterwards, the store temporarily disappeared from the site. The rumour was they were closed down by the administrators for shoddy trading practices. (Though I reiterate, this was only a rumour). I am still awaiting an additional payment to cover my time and expenses sorting out the claim, which was promised on two seperate occasions by two seperate customer services Team Leaders.

I am also aware of a buyer who purchased a £1300 lens which arrived faulty. After three months, he was still fighting to secure his refund.

I think the message is, you're very likely to get a great product for a good price, but do be aware of the possible issues if things are not in full working order.

For dSLRs/lenses etc, is it not worth investigating a certain nice man in Scotland, whose prices on new equipment are highly competitive and offers decent customer service at prices not far above the refurb store?
