Canon Olympic give away

Emailed the place mentioned in the POTN thread, seems they will be selling them for about $30 canadian and it is going to be about another $30 canadian to send one over here. If my maths is correct that works out at about £40 delivered. I am very tempted :p
 
wow already onto a friend in Canada to pre order me one :) mwahahahahaha :D will go lovely with me mini canon 1ds mkII with 600mm lens woo woo

He said $30 + $30 shipping. OR.... if you want more than 1, then an extra $3 or $4 per extra.

It makes sense to order in bulk. Is anyone else up for it if I order a few?

Let's say for example I get 5....

5 x $30 = $150
+ $46 shipping for all 5 (roughly)

$196 CA dollars (round it to $200 just incase postage is more)

$200 CAD = £129 / 5 = £25.80 each (as oppose to £38.98 if ordered singally)

yeah stick me down for one :) the $30 delivery was putting me off, but if it can be split up a bit that would be sweet.
 
Right, I've just enquired to see if it's possible to order 5.
I'm pretty sure there would be 4 other sad badgers on here that'd want one :D

Do you think there would be a customs charge on something like this?

Okie Dokie.

I've just contacted the guy again, and he says I'm definately guaranteed the 5 that I pre-ordered, which is reassuring.
Hopefully any customs charge will be invoiced to me on delivery. I've had customs invoices sent to me 1-2 months after taking delivery in the past.

Just read on the POTN forums that stock is expected sometime next week. So I'd say 2-3 weeks before they get to the UK?
The shipping is Canada XpressPost, not sure how fast they are.

Not heard anything back from them yet. But will post as soon as I do
 
Just had an update about these. The latest estimated time of arrival (with the company) is April 15th.
I know that's quite a while away, especially considering these are then going to have to be shipped from Canada to UK.

So if anyone did want to pull out, that's no problem, I understand if you don't want to wait, or if the desire to own one has passed

Can't remember which shop, but one of them in Canada is give away one of these if you spend over $200 on any Canon kit.

Not heard from the company, I wonder if I ever will. So I wouldn't hold your hopes up. They said expected delivery was mid April. Sorry.
Plus, I'm no longer in a position to be buying 5 of them as I just don't have the spare cash at the mo. If I do hear back from the company then I'll still let you know, and maybe someone could take over my reservation if people are still interested.

But on another forum people said they've received their orders from the following website:

Since djs won't be able to make all 5 orders at the moment, if any of you guys are still interested, I'm looking to get some people to join my bulk order as well.
