as a canon user having to micro adjust is a pain.. a user on a forum made a passing comment ..

One of the major advantages of mirrorless cameras is the lack of necessity for Micro Focus adjustments.

I havent seen that mentioned anywhere.. is this true?

Yes it's true.
Unlike DSLRs where tolerances between imaging plane and focusing plane causes minor misfocusing, on mirrorless the image plain and plain of focus is the same i.e. on the same sensor. So no need to micro adjust.

Good to know thanks.... seriously looking at offloading a 1dxmkII and getting a canon r6 and the reasons why are building :)

A very nice and capable body for sure.
If I hadn't turned into a megapixel whore I'd have bought one myself :ROFLMAO:

I switched from canon of (20 years ) to fuji . When I bought a canon lens my first though always was "I hope this is a good copy" or "I wonder if this one will need any adjustment" I have bought and sold many many fuji lenses and every single time without exception the lens was nothing short of perfect with regards to good or bad copies so to speak . sorry this is a long answer to the question but no they don't require adjustment and its great to know every lens you buy will automatically be a good copy :-) no taking it out of a box and testing it on a ruler at 45 degrees

yep such a worry :( your always wondering when a shot goes wrong.. is it that or :(

It’s best though to stick to just own brand lenses .. on switching to Olympus I did have problems in the first year using a Panasonic / Leica lens the 100-400 as it did need MA to get it right . But that’s now gone and replaced by a Olympus one . Different tolerances i suspect

@KIPAX I'm thinking it may be time to let the 1DXM2 go too. I picked up an R5 a few months ago and it's better in pretty much every way except battery life. Especially the autofocus tracking, that is really good.

I have two 1dx that do a superb job for 99% of my work.. the 1dxmkII for those really badly lit places.. theres some extra features that makes it worth having.. but i do fancy the r6.. I have never got on with extenders but i believe mirrorless would take away all the probems and they work better,

Just checked wiht MPB ? i listed my camera as excellent as its got the rubber cover on it so in very good condition.. and it comes back at £1665 :( An R6 cheapest i can find is panamoz for £2110 ... add different memory cards.. spare battery.. maybe need to battery grip to use extra battery... looking like about £700 to convert over..

As a CPS member...am thinking of asking to borrow an r6 to try before I buy.. I did with the 1dx and 1dxII they sent me one out for a couple of weeks.. maybe thats my next step :)

Sounds like a sensible step. It takes a bit of getting used to. On the upside I’m happy I stuck with canon as all the EF lenses work perfectly with the RF to EF adapter. Make sure you get one of those when you pick it up.
