Evening all,

I've searched the forum for an answer, but I'm finding a lot of dead links so haven't really found any help.

Could someone suggest a good quality 3rd party replacement for the LP-E4 battery to go with a 1D MKIV or somewhere that does the genuine item for a reasonable price.

Many Thanks,
Ryan

Couldn't find many places that still sell that battery, it's been replaced by the LP-e4N which the 1DX uses. You can use that battery with your current camera and charger, but it will only charge to about 90%. Microglobe are selling the original battery for £98, but the reviews of this company are very mixed and grey imports have been mentioned and poor customer service.

There doesn't seem to be many that are selling the original battery, although lots of manufacturers offering 3rd party batteries.

The problems with 3rd party will be very inferior soft plastics, bad fit and poor sealing. It could help you kill your 1D in a light drizzle. I am speaking from experience. I just about found something that worked in mk2, and sent everything back for my ex mk3. Your best bet is original one.
