Canon lens on a Nikon

Hi there, this is probably a stupid question but is there such a convert to let you use a canon lens on a nikon? I know this is stupid but i have my reasons, lol. Just need to know if its possible and if so can all the automatic settings still be used like auto focus and aperture.
 
I know of one that allows a nikon lens fit a canon body but the auto focus wont work

Nope. :(

I think the nikon mount is much smaller than the canon so an adapter can't work.

Shame, if there was a way I'm sure lots of folks with canon lenses would have D3's. :lol:
 
I've heard of a fitment that allows a Nikon lens on a Canon but not the other way round.
The one Canon lens I'd really like on my D300 is the 10-22mm.
 
As a Canon user i often wonder if Nikon lenses are sharper
 
LOL, would look very odd though! I can understand the need though, looking at the different camps they do offer lenses in differing ranges or price brackets. I would hope we are getting nearer to a single standard [or mount] which would allow this. Would make for some very confusing ordering.

Do Sigma or Tamron et al not offer the lens you wish to use in Nikon fitment?
 
I do believe 'Lense' is a b.astardisation of the plural 'Lenses' and came about through incorrect English translation by foreign lens manufacturers.

Now that's picky.

Its not possible because Canon lenses need to be closer to the Nikon film plane/sensor, any adapter would only take it further away, the aperture of the f mount is too small to allow mounting a Canon lens any closer than a Nikon lens.

appart from that, god would smite you with great vengance and furious anger.....and....you wouldn't want that..
not on a Wednesday night anyway.

Blasphemer!! Why would you want to pollute the clarity and sharpness of your Nikon lenses by attaching them to a glorified point-&-shoot?

(Ducks, runs, and just about makes it out the door before a 1DS body knocks him cold....)

can a minolta lens be mounted on a nikon in any way? Grandad has passed away and left me a beauty of a 500mm Minolta lens, not sure how good it would actually be, its a manual focus one???
