Canon launches "The Assignment", amateur photography comp with lots of prizes

I think I managed to submit mine earlier, despite like Jimmy, fighting with the site to get it uploaded.
 
I went on the site earlier just to browse the pics, it was having none of it!
 
Gutted cos I really wanted to enter this but it wouldn't go through!! Kept saying some fields weren't filled in!

Same as I had then, I suppose everyone was trying to do last minute submissions. Shame you missed it though Jimmy:(

I went on after I submitted and was getting nothing in the galleries at all

That's a shame, I did mine about 6 times before it recognised it
 
i also wonder about the entries themselves. someone has entered an official vista wallpaper http://ta.canon-europe.com/?pg=gallery&cc=gb&lc=en&photo_id=foto480b7e40e90fd . and i also spotted a PRO tog entering the comp even though its only for amateurs. http://ta.canon-europe.com/?pg=gallery&cc=gb&lc=en&photo_id=foto4802a9de2e391 . he is the tog behind transient light who advertise every month in most photo mags. thing is i cant figure out how to email canon and complain, cant find any emails specific for the assignment, tried emailing the canan web feedback email but no response.
not fair on amateurs when the pro's are entering too.

i do think this has been quite poorly thought out and executed IMO.

i tried for 2 hrs last night , Finlay had the same , competition closed that was at 11.15 , in there terms and conditions it said the comp will close at 00:01 1st may . so i sent an email and asked why they had terms and conditions if they are going to break them :suspect:

no reply as yet . :bonk:

It says 00:01 CET - which I am guessing is an hour ahead of us :(
 
I entered mine the other day and was panicking a bit because I hadn't had my confirmation of acceptance when it closed. I would have been buggered if it had been refused when I finally got my acceptance email this afternoon :eek:

Sorry for those of you who couldn't get entered :shake: That sucks.
 
I haven't had an acceptance email yet (or indeed a rejection one). Although I can log into the site and see my shot under "Your Submission"
 
Mine got approved within 12hrs of submission, I only submitted it at 6:00 om ish yesterday

But it was 00:01 CET (Central European Time) which meant 23:01 for us, sorry mate

I got my email this evening
 
So far, I've seen a picture taken with a minolta and a picture taken with a panasonic entered. I thought it had to be a canon or am I mistaken?

Mine was with a Fuji S9500. Doesn't stand a chance in hell of winning. :shake: There are some stunning images in the category I entered, landscape.

however i was trying for 2 hrs , still it aint the only comp is it . next time i`ll read all the small print

Well I finally got my acceptance email yesterday. Don't think I'll fare well in the comp, but it didn't cost me to enter :)
 
Anyone else having problems with the Canon site? Can't get it to work :(
 
yep has been pain in the rectum all day vey slow and then cant get on
 
I managed to get mine uploaded.

Most of you are correct in saying its a bitch of a site to make work. I have had more people say they've had problems signing on and voting than actual success ones.
