So after reading the terms it seems you can enter one image into 1 category thats it?

Not one for each?

And you have until May 1st to submit

That's how I've just read it. (Had to re-register using another email address to login!!) Is there any specific size that needs to be uploaded?

BTW, the site is crawling atm!!
 
the site is terrible. I'm going to check it out when it's a bit more usable.

MAX 500K and all images will be resized to 1024x 768
 
Hey Marcel,do you know of any canon comps south of the equator or how i can get hold of someone in the canon group to get it started,we do have Canon down here as well :-)

Am I right in interpreting the rules as only one photo can be submitted overall... not one per category? And what of pixel dimensions...?

This implies that you need to choose your category so I guess it's one overall.

When you click on image submission, a little pop box says "Image file, max 4mb jpeg" and "The image will be resized proportionally to fit 1024 x 768 pixels. The file size will be limited automatically to 500Kb. If you want full control over how your image is displayed, please ensure it complies with these restrictions before uploading."

I guess post process for 1024 etc and half a meg as Canon's compression might be uncertain.

Did anyone else spot this in the rules:

2.1Pre-registration period

2.1.1The period for pre-registration starts on 18 February 2008 at 00:01 CET and closes on 17 March 2008 at 00:01 CET. After pre-registration the Registered user will receive a notification e-mail when the upload period starts

Ok, ive just read the rules again and it says those who arent pre-registered have to register to upload pics! Errrr... isnt that a bit of a pointless rule???
 
My entry's in. Judging by some in this category (landscape) I don't stand a hope in hell. :shake:
 
How long did it take for the canon email to come through after registration as its been 24hrs and i still havent had it and when i try to log on it says i have to validate my account.

Ive merged the two threads, so sorry if any replies seem a bit out of sorts :D

Anyway, the previous problem of email :

When I go to log in it says "Your email isnt in the database", so I go to register and it says "You've already registered".

I did a quick search of my gmail archives, and I was using the wrong password...why the heck didn't they say that!

So I'm logged in now. Just have to choose a photo to submit. This is gonna be hard.
 
I submitted one (in macro), and have been accepted. Not holding out much hope though!!
It's of a hoverfly, resting on a leaf.
 
looked at the switzerland entries only 164 so far, should of moved there might of stood a chance!!!

how could listing the shot details be called inappropriate? weird....

Forgot all about this. I have just entered into the landscape section. Some really nice contributions in there. Now waiting for approval. Hope it goes through ok, because there is no time now for a repost! Good luck to all those who have entered. Would be great if people from TP do well!:clap:

Deadline is today I believe, it doesnt state ithas to be moderated by today so I'd go for it.

Well that was fun. Been fighting their horrid site all night with it telling me to validate my account, then when I re-do that it telling me it was already validated...to finally get on and it recognising me to find they have closed the submissions now.
