I recently bought a Ixus 75 in Hong Kong as an upgrade to my Powershot 550 (I have a 400D as well, before I get lambasted!! ;)). It seems like a great little compact, but I currently have the following problems with the screen:-

1) 2 dark 'spot like areas on the screen when I am looking to take pictures, but which doesn't seem to appear once the shot is taken and played back - could this be something on the lens that would be unnoticable on the cameras playback???

2) Potentially a stuck pixel - would a stuck pixel be noticable on the screen when the camera is switched off, as this is, or could it just be some dust or something??

I bought the camera with a 12 month Hong Kong warranty - has anybody ever returned goods to Canon Hong Kong, is it fairly straightforward???

Sounds like a defect with the screen if you can see it when it is switched off :| Doesn't sound good really :( I have had to send anything back abroad, but think it will probably quite straight forward. Do they have any info about returns on their specific part of the canon website?

If you can't see it in the pictures then it's not on the lens.

Do the dark areas resemble bruises or do they have a fairly sharp outline.
I have an Ixus 75 and it is fairly flimsy to say the least, it may be possible you have inadvertently squashed it or knocked it against something.

They resemble bruises and the stuck pixel (if it is one) looks like a grain of sand.

sometimes stuck pixels can be "fixed" by tapping the area of the screen that contains them...I've had this work on a couple of TFT's
