Canon G10: Sometime Soon???

I enquired about part-exing my Fuji against a Canon G9 the other day. Seemd like a good deal, although the dealer didn't have one.
So i phoned him today to check if they got any more in, his reply was a bit of surprise. They are waiting on the G10, so won't be getting any more G9's in:eek:
So anyone know anything about the G10? A quick search came back with nothing. I might hang on til it appears:naughty:
 
B&H in America (Biggest and best Photographic retailer in the US) stop stocking it about a month ago, I think the spec is

Key upgrades and features of the G10 include:

-True 5x zoom wide angle lens (28-140mm equivalent.)
--Face Detection can recognize profiles.

-14.7 megapixel capture

-RAW format files editable in Canon Digital Photo Pro (instead of ZoomBrowser/Imagebrowser like the G9)

-ISO up to 1600 with binned pixels lo-rez 3200 scene setting

-ISO dial now wraps around mode dial.

-Exposure Comp has own dial to left of the hotshoe (where the ISO dial was on the G9.)

Hmmm, would prefer the slightly longer zoom of the G9 and not bothered by the increase in pixels. So might just go for a G9, might wait:thinking:
 
I think i'll wait and see if that spec is genuine, then if it is probably buy the G9. I think it'll suit my needs better
 
The G9 is already noisy above iso400 with is 12mp sensor, tbh I wouldnt like to see a 14.7mp sensor in a compact unless they make APS-C size.

I think i will stick with my G9 its a great compact imho.
 
I want to use it for when i'm out with the mountain bike and i would prefer the longer lens. I don't take that many photos in dark conditions so upto 400 will probably fine. I'll hang on for exact spec
