I'm looking at obtaining a 2x Kenko Teleconverter. Question being what is the difference between MC-4 and MC-7 ?

I know (Think I Know) the 4 and 7 is the number of optical elements, however I don't know what difference this makes in the real world.

Any help gratefully received.

thanks

Sorry, Yes they are Kenko, but its for Canon Fit. I'll edit the original to avoid further confusion, thanks

Andrew,

Real world difference will be the quality of the image produced. The extra elements are in there to correct abberations.

For what it's worth, and in my opinion, neither of these two T/C's will be a high enough standard for your 70-300....the Pro 300 DG is the way forwards if Kenko is your chosen brand. I would also caution about putting a 2x on that lens and settling for a 1.4x may avoid disappointment.

Thanks for the honest Info Bob. To be fair I'm hoping to upgrade the lens in the not too distant future, so may hold out until then, If the new lens is going to take too long to fund I'll probably opt for the 1.4x option.

Once again thanks
