Yes
Just picked up this mint body through EBay, complete with power winder.

Issue no1 is that it has a huge mirror and I've yet to get it to function properly with a normal FD/FL lens or extension tube in place. (EOS 5D boys eat your heart out!!)

Issue no2 is that the power winder looks to have a series of electrical contacts across the front which suggest that it plugs into something for recharging.

Issue no3 is that it doesn't show up at the Canon Hall of Fame Camera museum so I'm going to take a chance and send an email to Canon in the hope that someone might take pity on the latest mug to buy one of these things. :cuckoo::bang::bonk::shrug: All I can get from t'internet is that it's believed to be a specialist opthalmic camera. The diopter zooms in and out and has a scale with markings of -4, -2, 0, +2

It's for taking pictures of eyes, apparently! http://www.mir.SPAM/rb/photography/companies/canon/fdresources/SLRs/CanonFA/index.htm

From Google translate:

"Good evening Tikkathreebarrel. This camera is part of another ophthalmology device called an angiograph."
"Photos of the angiograph. Your camera only takes pictures from the angiograph."

Looking at the web, dye angiography is an eye test which uses medical contrast dye and a specialised ophthalmic camera to examine blood flow through vessels at the back of the eye. I don't know if there are other types of angiograms apart from the dye ones, the web hits I've come up with all refer to dye ones.

So based on Freudy71's pictures (merci Issouf) Tikka's Canon would attach to the angiograph which the victim looks into. It's odd that a special camera was used (with a bigger mirror) rather than just using an everyday Canon SLR body - maybe the idea was to get a larger image for focusing as the eyepiece seems larger than normal?

I spent ten years taking my dad into the local hospital every six months for his checkup to see how his retinal degeneration had progressed, with him first having what appeared to be a kind of flourescent eye drop give, then 20 minutes later being strapped onto one of those machines and the rear of the retina being explored - the "lens" of the machine was apparently "steerable" - as in the doctor could examine up down left and right to get a complete view of the back of my dad's eye. The images produced were circular with a white border - a bit like (forgive the analogy) fish eye lens pictures. I would imagine that the large lenses and large mirror was an attempt to gather every tiny amount of light available - not necessarily visible light - as I say, I think there was a fluorescent element to the eyedrop, and my dad said he only saw very unpleasant flashing yellow and green colours, but I could see the lens in contact with his eye was glowing purple/blue - probably UV lighting.

Later appointments the static camera on the top was replaced by a digital camera that output video to a screen, and highres still photos for the files, but the big white machine with the silver rails that sat beside your cheeks, and the chin cup to keep your head completely static while a lens was actually applied to the surface of your eye remained the same.
